Dr Nicholas Woo
Consultant Vet and Surgeon BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (Small Animal Surgery)
Dr. Nicholas Woo graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 and completed two year-long internships at Queensland Veterinary Specialists (QVS) and Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Centre (BVSC). During this time, he developed a strong passion for small animal surgery and oncology, working under renowned specialists like Dr. Rod Straw. At BVSC, he gained experience at Australia’s only veterinary facility equipped with a Megavoltage Linear Accelerator for cancer radiation treatment.
In 2011, Dr. Woo returned to Singapore, joining a busy referral practice as a consultant surgeon and practice manager for six years. That same year, he earned Memberships in the Surgery Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) by examination.
Driven by his commitment to elevate veterinary care, Dr. Woo founded Advanced Vetcare in 2017, equipping it with 24-hour service and critical care facilities. He has a special interest in oncology, reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, total hip replacements, and spinal surgery. Currently, he is exploring microvascular surgery to expand organ reconstruction options for cancer patients.
An active contributor to the veterinary community, Dr. Woo has presented at numerous scientific meetings and promotes continuing education. He also served as Vice President of the Singapore Veterinary Association in 2017 and chaired the local host committee for the 2018 World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress.
